If you are in the midst of receiving orthodontic treatment at Shelley A Tretter DMD MS INC, we encourage you to not miss or reschedule any of your adjustment appointments if possible. These regular appointments keep your orthodontic treatment on track; otherwise, your treatment will last longer than it needs to.

While working with Dr. Shelley Tretter, you will need to visit the office about every four to six weeks so that our team can stretch and adjust the periodontal ligaments of your braces and keep your teeth shifting into their final alignment. The number of adjustment sessions required will depend on your specific orthodontic needs.

The process of stretching the periodontal ligaments is a progressive one, and consistent adjustment sessions at key intervals is a critical part of realigning your smile. By missing one of these sessions, you may be increasing the amount of time that you have to wear braces.

The appointment adjustments are also a time at which our orthodontist may replace bands, brackets, or wires that have been damaged, bent out of shape, or worn out. During these visits, you can also ask her any questions you have about oral hygiene, especially if you are struggling to effectively keep your braces and teeth clean.

If you are unsure when you need to visit our office next, call us today at 513-697-9999 and will gladly provide the assistance you need. We look forward to helping you achieve a new smile with braces in Cincinnati, Ohio!
